There are tool watches that the horological community has an affinity for, and G Shock is at the core of that love. G Shock is known for creating time pieces that can thrive in the harshest environments and at their core really are tools designed for their respective professionals. In the spirit of the brand and new for the fall is G Shock’s latest release, the GravityMaster GRB200, a timepiece created with the aviation professional in mind.
For the aviation nuts reading this, you will be happy to know that the GravityMaster is packed with all of the essential functions and all of the accuracy required once aloft. Out of the box the piece is equipped with automatic compass correction capabilities, two year battery life, Quad Sensor technology that boasts a compass, thermometer, altimeter/barometer, step tracker and aesthetically the watch has been give high legibility and high durability.
G-Shock GravityMaster Capabilities
Once synced via Bluetooth to a smart phone and the G–Shock connect app the features really begin to bubble over. The GravityMase\ter offers a mission log function that is able to record altitude points from the watch and the GPS functionality from the phone. The piece also comes enabled with a calorie consumption display that calculates data from the step counter and takes altitude measurements in account. Additionally the location indicator records the current location on the app while the watch is able to backtrack the device by pointing to the location with the second hand and show the distance traveled on the LCD display. When traveling across different time zones the piece will automatically update to the correct time zone. The menu mode on the LCD is fully customizable via the same connected smart phone app. If that wasn’t enough, the watch also has a phone finder function,].
The G-Shock GravityMaster will come in three colorways with a Carbon Core Guard construction, carbon infused resin bezels and resin bands in black (GRB200-1A), orange (GRB200–1A9), blue (GRB200–1A2. The carbon core guard structure provides for extremely resilience with a resin case that’s as been reinforced with carbon fibers. There is also a large button layout that has been set at different angles, shapes and arranged to resemble a jet fighter control stick. The large size enables the watch’s practical functionality even if the user is wearing gloves. To ensure no buttons are pressed in error there are button guards to prevent any miscues.
Among some of the other durability features the watch has been engineered with is the carbon insert bezel. The bezel has a three layer structure to protect against any harsh conditions as well as extreme turbulence. The top layer is also semitransparent for wearer to be. Able to view the carbon.
