Wempe, the esteemed family-run watch, jewelry and retail company based in Hamburg, Germany, has collaborated with Nomos Glashütte, a renowned Saxon watch manufacturer, to create the Tangente Neomatik 41 Update – Signature Collection. This limited edition timepiece – part of an on-going collaboration between the two brands — combines the iconic design of Nomos Glashütte with Wempe’s commitment to meeting customer expectations. The Tangente Neomatik 41 Update – Signature Collection is a celebration of German watchmaking excellence, showcasing impeccable craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
The Tangente, introduced by Nomos Glashütte in 1992, holds a special place in German watch history. Known for its simplicity and functionality, it has received prestigious accolades, including the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève and the European Product Design Award. This iconic model has become synonymous with the Bauhaus aesthetic and German engineering prowess.
The newest Wempe and Nomos Tangent Neomatik 41 Update watch is created in a limited edition of 200 pieces to be sold exclusively at Wempe.
The Tangente Neomatik 41 Update – Signature Collection combines Nomos Glashütte’s exceptional craftsmanship with Wempe’s meticulous attention to detail. It features innovative patents, including a legible date display and a mechanism for backward and forward date corrections. The watch is powered by the 188-part ultra-thin automatic manufacture caliber, DUW 6101, it boasts an impressive 42 hours of power reserve.
The design of the Tangente Neomatik 41 Update – Signature Collection is characterized by its timeless style and versatility. The dial, in a cool ice blue color with contrasting Arabic numerals, hour markers, and a date disk in ultra-navy blue, exudes a modern yet classic aesthetic. Complemented by blued hands for hours, minutes, and small seconds, this watch is both complex and characterful. It is presented on a dark blue textile strap with a pin buckle, adding to its understated elegance.
Despite its exclusivity, Wempe and Nomos Glashütte have priced the Tangente Neomatik 41 Update – Signature Collection at the same level as the regular Tangente Neomatik 41 Update, ensuring accessibility for watch enthusiasts. It will be available from June 2023 at all Wempe branches carrying NOMOS Glashütte watches and through their online shop. Just 200 pieces will be made. It retails for $4,100.
