Last month in Basel, the annual international WatchStars Awards were presented to winning watches in five categories. Honoring “the best watches of the world,” Watchstars gives awards based on 2016 introductions that are in stores now. Roberta Naas, founder of ATimelyPerspective, is one of the approximately 90 judges from around the world on the panel.
Winners gathered for an award presentation event during Basel. Those winners:
Classic Stars: Rolex Perpetual Air King
Technical Stars: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie
Design Stars: Hermes Slim d’Hermes Grand Feu Enamel
Of course, Bulgari is no newcomer to the world of watches, however, the brand has really stepped up its game in the realm of Haute Horlogerie in the past decade, making it a relatively recent “star.”
Also during the Watchstars 2017 award ceremony and press conference at Baselworld, WatchStars introduced its new book project: Selected Superlatives – the best watches of the world. The oversized book portrays the Watchstars winners in a new way. Printed on high-quality paper and delivered in exclusive packaging with a pair of watchmaking gloves. »Selected Superlatives« is expected to be an annual publication coveted in the industry.
Will the winners receive their awards at an event during Baselworld 2017?
