Well, it is finally happening. An actual in-person jewelry and watch show is taking place next month in Las Vegas. The Couture Show, typically held in late May/early June and postponed last year and earlier this year due to the pandemic, is opening its doors from August 24 through the 26th — with more than a couple of dozen watch exhibitors and lots of jewelry brands. It also launches a creative new website with an editorial focus, as well as an interactive platform, videos and podcasts with industry experts.
In fact, I had the great opportunity to write half a dozen articles about some of the watch brands exhibiting this year, including Grand Seiko, G-Shock, Oris, Accutron, Frederique Constant and Bell & Ross. Those articles recall a little history of the brands and give some insight into the newest watches being released. In addition to those brands, other watch companies exhibiting include Gucci, Eberhard, Reservoir, U-Boat, Artya and more.
The show will take place in the recently opened event space at the Wynn, and will play host to several new collection launches and celebratory events. In the new location, jewelry and timepiece brands will exhibit together in the Cristal Ballroom, with select brands exhibiting in private ballrooms and in private villas.
According to Gannon Brousseau, Couture Director and EVP, Emerald, “We’re so excited to have the opportunity to shine a light on the creative processes, dynamic personalities and stunning designs that make Couture so distinctive. This editorial perspective will allow us to contextualize the relevance of our designers, brands, retailers and media in the larger jewelry and timepiece landscape.”
