Every year we poke a little fun at the seriousness of BaselWorld by deciding which watch brand gave us the coolest looking USB sticks that contain the brand’s press releases and images. These powerful sticks, in fact, hold the keys of information close to the vest.
So, who won this year?
MB&F with the Melchior robot USB that emulates the brand’s very cool new clock (we will bring you more about that clock here this week).
Runners up come from some brands that know how to make a splash:
Fendi, with the tiny little “Karl Lagerfeld” USB that emulates the brand’s whimsical Lagerfeld keychain;
Gc with its feather and snakeskin ensemble that can be removed from the USB and clipped onto a bag or wallet for added pizazz.
Honorable Mentions go to Bremont, whose chunky plane recalls the brand’s aviation affiliations, and Louis Moinet for its chronograph pocket watch look alike USB. These brands only get honorable mention because they had the same USB for BaselWorld 2014.
Breguet and TAG Heuer also get an honoroble mention — not for the USB stick, but for the packaging. TAG Heuer delivered its USB in a plexiglass photo cube, while Breguet delivered theirs in a wooden keepsake box.
