Late last week, the Seiko Group Corporation announced the opening of the Group’s new creative studio, the Atelier Ginza. Located in the heart of the Ginza district, where the company was first founded more than 140 years ago in 1881, the creative studio is inside the Seiko House Ginza — previously known as the Wako building.
The aim of the new studio and its creative team is to develop unique and innovative watches that will keep the brand on the cutting edge. Only the finest designers, craftsmen and watchmakers from the Seiko Group will work together for these timepieces, whose aesthetics, like most of Seiko, is to adhere to traditional Japanese decorative motifs.
Customers who purchase select timepieces will be invited to visit the Atelier Ginza to discover the intricate craftsmanship that is put into each creation. The Atelier Ginza is jointly operated by the three Group companies: Seiko Watch Corporation, Seiko Time Creation Inc., and Wako Co., Ltd. These three companies form what the Seiko Group calls its Emotional Value Solutions Domain, which aims to “provide solutions to customers who demand a sense of deep satisfaction and lasting value.
