Alan Roura has once again conquered the Vendée Globe, completing his third solo, non-stop, and unassisted circumnavigation of the world. As the Swiss sailor crossed the finish line in Les Sables d’Olonne on February 3, 2025, at 12:57:48, the Swiss flag waved proudly in celebration of a feat that demanded resilience, strategy, and an unbreakable will. At the helm of the IMOCA Hublot, Roura covered 28,553 miles in 84 days, 55 minutes, and 48 seconds—nearly ten days faster than his previous record.

The Vendée Globe, often called the “Everest of the Seas,” is the ultimate test of endurance and skill. This edition proved no exception, with Roura navigating abrupt weather changes, energy challenges, and sail and rudder damage, all while facing the relentless extremes of the Southern Ocean. “Despite years of experience, you have to start from scratch, rethink and reinvent everything,” he reflected.

Roura set sail on November 10, 2024, the 31-year-old sailor defied all odds in this triumphant third completion of Vendee Globe. Hublot’s partnership with Roura is built on very similar push-yourself limits and philosophy. “We don’t need to underscore the reasons behind our collaboration with Alan. Our maritime DNA is in our name: Hublot, meaning ‘porthole.’ We are a manufacture born gazing out to the open ocean. Ocean racing technology is progressing as fast as our R&D. The recently launched Big Bang Unico Sailing Team represents the very best we have to offer for supporting ocean racing. For now, at least. Because for Hublot, as for Alan, the only thing that counts is pushing our limits,” said Hublot CEO Julien Tornare.
This pursuit of excellence is ingrained in both Roura and Hublot. Just as the sailor meticulously prepares for every eventuality at sea, Hublot’s watchmakers constantly innovate, challenging the limits of traditional craftsmanship. According to Roura, “The finish line is what we remember, but this line could never be crossed without all the work that goes before: research, development, preparation, experience, learning, will, and passion.”
