A partner of some of the most prestigious yacht clubs and regattas in the world, Rolex began its partnership with the New York Yacht Club in 1958. Now, almost 60 years later, New York Yacht Club Race Week is one of the top international events supported by Rolex.
The New York Yacht Club Race Week Presented by Rolex and the Rolex Big Boat Series, hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco in September are the two key regattas in the U.S. this summer that are supported by Rolex. Racing began this weekend on Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay and continues Wednesday through Saturday, July 16.
This weekend’s racing, with a total of 22 classic entered, features classic boats and multihulls. Rolex awards four Stainless Steel Submariner Date watches during the regatta to the best overall performing yacht of the first weekend, the winners of the C&C 30 and J/109 one-design classes and the best overall performing yacht of the IRC-rated classes. First introduced in 1953, the Submariner is presented to day in a redesigned Oyster case with large luminescent hour markers, graduated rotatable Cerachrom bezel and solid link Oyster bracelet.
