I admit, I am a great fan of watchmaker Emmanuel Bouchet who seems to think on a different level. About a year and a half ago, when he unveiled his first creation, the Emmanuel Bouchet Complication 1, we covered it in depth here. Now, we got a good look at the newest rendition, the Emmanuel Bouchet EB02 Automatic Limited Edition watch, and we want to tell you that it is also a stunner.
This new watch marks the second caliber in the brand’s collection, but it is special for several other more important reasons. To begin with, the architecture of the timepiece is at once both minimalistic and breathtaking in its technique and execution. With a signature domed sapphire crystal and seemingly floating crystal sundials, the 39mm watch holds your stare. Offered in two versions — one each with and without diamonds on the dial, the hours, minutes and seconds watch offers a few unique newnesses.
The Emmanuel Bouchet EB02 Automatic Limited Edition with diamonds — in a conical setting — is a technical masterpiece.
First and foremost is the fact that on the diamond-set version — with three diamonds on the dial — the diamonds are actually not traditionally set wit prongs or claws, but rather are positioned on unique cones floating inside the sapphire crystal dome. The setting has a patent pending.
The EB02 Automatic houses the EB89F caliber, the brand’s first automatic micro-rotor caliber from Emmanuel Bouchet. It features slanted seconds on a subdial at 6:00 and offers a day/night indicator, as well as 45 hours of power reserve. Caliber EB89F is designed by Emmanuel Bouchet, created exclusively for this timepiece and is manufactured in Switzerland. The 18-karat white gold version — with diamonds — retails for $57,000, while the non-diamond-set models sell for $49,800. Just 18 pieces of each will be made in rose gold and in white gold.

Impressions: The watch is the perfect size for any wrist. Given, however, that there is a diamond-set version — with a unique setting– i particularly like it for a woman. It is sleek, alluring, geometrical and mystical. Who wouldn’t want that. Also, given the wide range of colors and finishes of the first Emmanuel Bouchet Complication One, we expect to see a host of creative versions coming our way.
