In an exciting development for the worlds of adventure and horology, Bremont welcomes acclaimed climber, adventurer, photographer, and filmmaker Jimmy Chin to its family of brand ambassadors. The partnership reflects Bremont’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and endurance in the creation of its tool watches.
Bremont, a British brand credited with getting production watches in England back on track, has consistently sought to align itself with individuals who embody the spirit of uncharted exploration. Jimmy Chin, renowned for his extraordinary expeditions and storytelling prowess, perfectly encapsulates this ethos. His relentless pursuit of adventure and the meaningful narratives he captures align seamlessly with Bremont’s mission to be at the forefront of possibility in adventure and exploration.
Chin’s multifaceted career has seen him conquer towering peaks in harrowing climbing spaces, traverse remote landscapes, and immortalize these experiences through his lens. Alongside award-winning documentary filmmaker E. Chai Vasarhelyi, Chin filmed the movie Free Solo – capturing free climber Alex Honnold as he climbed El Capitan in Yosemite – without ropes.
“Creating films and photographs through situations that few others could experience is my life’s inspiration,” says Jimmy Chin, emphasizing the shared commitment to pushing boundaries and seeking meaningful purpose. He is sincere and determined – characteristics I got to witness first hand when I interviewd him one-on-one a few years ago.
Davide Cerrato, Bremont CEO, expresses the brand’s enthusiasm about this collaboration: “Bremont is passionate about aligning with inspiring individuals that embody our values and philosophy. We are on a mission to create the world’s most capable tool watches that are tested beyond their endurance by our incredible ambassadors.”
Chin’s career highlights include the first successful American ski descent from the summit of Mount Everest in 2006 and the coveted first ascent of the notorious Shark’s Fin in India’s Meru Central in 2011, among many other daring feats. His work as a National Geographic photographer and award-winning filmmaker, with notable successes like ‘Free Solo,’ further cements his status as a trailblazer in the adventure world.
As part of the collaboration, Jimmy Chin will wear Bremont’s Land, Sea, and Air collection watches. The partnership will extend beyond mere representation, with plans for special edition timepieces, exclusive content, and immersive experiences that celebrate the brand’s spirit of adventure.
“Watches are not just instruments for keeping time; they are symbols of exploration and mark the moments that define our lives. I look forward to testing Bremont out in the field as an essential part of my kit,” Chin says.
The collaboration marks a union of two entities committed to pushing the boundaries and inspiring others to ‘Take It Further.’
