Pure Ingenuity – Introducing Armin Strom’s Pure Skeleton Air and Earth

The elegance of a timepiece is often hidden behind an exquisite dial sometimes leaving the inner workings of a watch largely mysterious.  However, Armin Strom’s Skeleton Pure collection reveals the mastery inside its device without losing the stylish appeal of a tasteful dial. We’ve touched on the  Skeleton Pure Fire and Water models here in the past but as we gear up for the 2015 Baselworld Fair, we’d like to reflect the ingenuity and precision that makes Armin Strom so spectacular.

Plated with rhodium, one of the rarest and most valuable precious metals,  the ARM09-S calibre is displayed in a very three-dimensional manner thanks to the incredible skeletonization and coloration of the main plate via PVD.  The Skeleton Pure Air (crafted in titanium, referencing the lightness of air) and Skeleton Pure Earth (crafted in black PVD) models are equipped with a lengthy eight day power reserve.

While the main feature of the Pure collection is to showcase the mechanized functions behind the ticking timepiece, the subtle designs of the watch face  accentuate its form and function. Subtleties such as the slight orange tick marks scoring the second hand dial, or the bright lettering of “Armin Strom” do well to gracefully present themselves on the otherwise sleek casing.

Founded on exclusivity and precision, the Skeleton Pure collection by Armin Strom is truly a spectacular work of art. You may catch yourself staring a bit longer than anticipated each time you take a quick glance for the time.  It’s okay though, we’ll allow it.
