Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication
The 12th edition of the Temporis International Awards is now underway, and the public is invited to vote for the 2025 “Masterpiece” watch. In fact, that public voting is what makes the Temporis awards one of the most unusual honors in the world of fine watchmaking. While most watch industry awards are adjudicated behind closed doors, often with entrance and other fees associated with them, the Temporis International Awards stand out as the only international horological awards where voting is open to the general public around the world.

Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Perpetual Calendar
Founded in 2011 by Dan Vardie, the Temporis International Awards are bestowed upon the winners at the gala ceremony—set for October 2, 2025, at the iconic Kongresshaus in Zurich. Unlike many industry awards, including the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (for which I am an Academy member) there are no entry fees associated with Temporis nominations, allowing broader participation from across the watchmaking spectrum.

A. Lange Sohne Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar
This year’s first award category to go live is the Masterpiece award that encompasses new watches presented at Watches & Wonders 2025, showcasing ten of the most significant horological creations unveiled at and around this year’s Geneva fair. The nominees were selected by an international jury of experts, me included, based on criteria such as innovation, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
The lineup includes watches from A. Lange & Söhne, Arnold & Son, Bulgari, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Parmigiani Fleurier, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Ulysse Nardin, and Vacheron Constantin. Voting is open now and will remain live until May 31, giving watch lovers worldwide a chance to weigh in.

Cartier Prive Tank-a-Guichets
Voting for the Masterpiece award is now live at the Temporis voting page.
The Temporis jury for 2025 is composed of leading voices in watch journalism, engineering, and industry analysis. Jurors include:
Dr. Andy Palmer, automotive executive and mechanical precision expert
Roger Ruegger, Editor-in-Chief of WatchTime USA
Miguel Seabra, watch and tennis journalist
Fabrice Brulhart, collector-turned-insider
Silvio Jobin, co-author of Deloitte’s Swiss Watch Industry Study

Patek Philippe Grand Complications
Each year, Dan Vardie personally selects the jury, ensuring a diversity of expertise and a shared passion for horology. As part of the awards’ unique structure, jury members are responsible for curating the initial nominations in each category. From there, the public takes the lead in selecting the winners.
Following the Masterpiece award, voting for other categories will roll out over the summer. These include distinctions such as Best Travel Watch, Best Everyday Men’s Watch, Best Sustainable Watch, Red Carpet Ladies’ Watch, and more. Altogether, the Temporis International Awards encompass just over a dozen categories designed to reflect the multifaceted nature of modern watchmaking—from innovation to accessibility, elegance to environmental responsibility.
