At the risk of sounding redundant — this is the third year in a row that we can expect great things in women’s watches at the SIHH in Geneva in January. Women’s watches have been the highlighted focus for many brands for the past three years, with some brands unveiling entirely new, specially-created women’s lines. Today, Roger Dubuis announces new timepieces in its incredibly alluring Velvet collection for women.
Focusing on both elegance and technical prowess for women, the brand releases the Blossom Velvet Pink and the Blossom Velvet Blue. Each of these is color coordinated and flaunts a mother-of–pearl dial with floral motif painted in grand feu enamel for a truly feminine appeal. The 18-karat gold cases are set with diamonds for added allure. Each of these is powered by the automatic RD821 movement. The Blossom Velvet retails for $64,200.
Also new this year is the Velvet Secret Heart with a rich blue dial that offers a bi-retrograde jumping date function. This is an especially intriguing function, as it has two retrograde hands (that move with each date change and then jump back to the beginning to start again) to indicate the date and that act like a carefully orchestrated dance. The watch is powered by the self-winindg RD821B movement that offers 48 hours of power reserve. The complex watch retails for $80,300. As with all Roger Dubuis watches, these new additions bear the Geneva Seal.
