Pre-SIHH 2019: Introducing The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel

SIHH is around the corner and we are beginning to witness a host of new timepieces being showcased ahead of time — but don’t get too excited — this only means we get a peek at what is coming in January in Geneva – it doesn’t mean you don’t have to wait until next year for the watches to make their debut. You do. Here, though, we bring you a look at the stunning enamel blue of this Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel watch.

Jaeger-LeCoultre remains one of the few Manufactures offering hand-made gem-setting, engraving, guillochage and enameling at its workshops, and this timepiece is representative of that fine craftsmanship. There are three new Master Ultra Thin Enamel watches being unveiled, each with midnight blue guilloche’ enamel dials that are absolutely entrancing. In fact, Jaeger-LeCoultre brought this great art of enameling back into its workshops in 1999 and has built an incredible division on an upper floor of its manufacture where these fine arts — the guilloche work on the dial and the painting of the translucent blue enamel layer by layer — are executed.

With a stunning moon phase aperture at 6 o’clock, the new watches are being offered in a limited series of 100 pieces. This version features a new hand-guilloché enamel dial, new longer hour-markers, and a new polished moon that, when full, sits against a starry sky.  The watch is also equipped with a new engraved counter that displays the numerals for the date in a  visually appealing easy-to-read  manner. The watch’s extremely thin case measures 10.04 mm in thickness and  is crafted in 18-karat white gold. Powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 925, an automatic mechanical movement with  70 hours of  power reserve, the Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel offers 70 hours of power reserve and is water resistant to 5 bar. It retails for $35,000.
