Earlier this year, on June 1, 2023, Panerai opened its largest boutique in the world: Casa Panerai in New York City. The new Madison Ave flagship store (at 63rd Street) consists of more than 2,000 square feet and marks the brand’s commitment to the city that never sleeps. Now, Panerai unveils a new special edition Luminor BiTempo New York Edition watch in honor of the Big Apple.
The 44mm black DLC (diamond-like carbon) Luminor BiTempo New York watch is being created in a limited edition of just 212 pieces – a nod to New York City’s famed area code. It boasts a gray matte sandwich dial that allows for great visibility of the Super-LumiNova on the lower dial for easy readability in the dark. The dial also showcase a small subsidiary seconds dial at 9:00 and a date window at 3:00.
Powered by the automatic P9010/GMT caliber, the movement consists of 200 components, including two barrels, a Glucydur® balance and an Incabloc® anti-shock device. It offers three days of power reserve and is a GMT that displays time in two zones. The tip of the GMT hand is gilded to match the shade of the DLC coated case, which is extra strong and durable. The well-known and easily identifiable Luminor crown protector is engraved with the words ‘New York’ on the lever.
Another beautiful nod to the city is found on the case back, which is etched with the image of the Brooklyn Bridge. The watch is finished with a gray strap made of recycled PET. It is water resistant to 300 meters. It is available for sale at Casa Panera for $12,700.
