Last week in England, Montblanc served for the second consecutive year as the Official Timing Partner of The Goodwood Festival of Speed, which celebrates its 25th anniversary. In honor of the partnership, Montblanc unveils a new TimeWalker Limited Edition watch, inspired by Minerva’s rich 160-year history of involvement in, and creating chronographs for, the sport of racing.Founded 160 years ago, the Minerva Manufacture was known for producing high-quality instruments for measuring brief intervals of time with remarkable precision — for example, the 1/100th of second counter that was presented in 1916. The new limited edition TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph watch features a much-coveted panda dial and a Cappuccino-colored leather strap.
During Goodwood, Montblanc also unveiled a limited edition Automatic Date to complement the Manufacture Chronograph. For both of these watches, the dials are beige with brown counters and brown flanges, and are nicknamed the “Cappuccinos.” Both TimeWalkers are available for purchase this September, with the Manufacture Chronograph Limited Edition –1500 pieces — retailing for $5,400, and the Automatic Date — not a limited edition — for $2,885.
As Official Timing Partner, Montblanc timed a host of races that took place over the four-day event, including the culmination race: a 1.16-mile timed Hillclimb Shootout. The winner of the climb also won the Montblanc TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph “Cappuccino” edition.
“Montblanc timepieces celebrate the unrelenting passion for speed that has been at the heart of motor racing for the past century. For the past 25 years, the spirit of racing has found its home at Goodwood, an event that brings together those who share this passion for speed from all corners of the world. I can’t think of a better venue,” comments Davide Cerrato, Montblanc’s Managing Director Watch Division.
