In a bold continuation of its tradition of horological innovation, MING has announced the release of the 20.01 Series 3, a watch that blends cutting-edge technology with refined aesthetics. This latest creation from the independent watch brand, the 20.01 Series 3, is the first to feature a fused borosilicate dial, crafted in collaboration with Femtoprint SA.
The unusual borosilicate dial is punctuated by 600 precisely engineered holes or voids created in a circular, symmetrical pattern. The voids form a wave in sectional thickness that is clearly visible with the dial at an angle. They are then filled – using a syringe — with a Super-LumiNova X1 mixture for an intense glow, creating a visually striking effect that is both futuristic and elegant.
The watch is powered by the AgenGraphe manual-wind movement from Agenhor, recognized for its sophisticated chronograph mechanisms and advanced engineering. The movement contains many advanced and unique features such as a central chronograph core, Agenhor’s proprietary backlash-free gears, proprietary horizontal clutch mechanism, instantaneous jumping minutes, snail reset cams; and proprietary regulation mechanism.
Encased in a combination of 18-karat 5N rose gold and DLC-coated titanium, the 41.5mm watch is designed for both presence and comfort. The piece is further accentuated with an anthracite goat strap and a rose gold buckle by Jean Rousseau Paris. The new watch is an extension of the brand’s Special Projects Cave division launched in 2021, which is focused on experimental materials and technologies. Limited to just 20 pieces, the MING 20.01 Series 3 is priced at CHF 43,500 and will be available exclusively through MING’s website, with deliveries beginning in October 2024.
