They are just being unveiled for pre-orders. While each of the watches will come in editions of 300, for this first-phase release,100 of each model will be made available.
Aera M-1 Field and M-1 Blackbird
Drawing inspiration from the iconic “Dirty Dozen” WWII military watches, the M-1 series embodies the spirit of rugged functionality while embracing a contemporary vision. Aera’s commitment to reimagining tradition is evident in these streamlined designs, which emphasize clarity, practicality, and modern aesthetics.
Both models feature 39mm cases, making them compact yet substantial on the wrist—a nod to the original field watch dimensions with a sleeker, modern twist. Additionally, both models share an elliptical case design complemented by ergonomic lugs and a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating for effortless wearability and readability.
The M-1 Field is crafted from satin-brushed 904L stainless steel, a material prized for its superior corrosion resistance and durability. Its sibling, the M-1 Blackbird, features a circular brushed PVD-coated 904L steel case, giving it a stealthy, matte-black finish.
The dials on each version, in matt black, exude simplicity. A subtle railroad minute track and recessed small seconds sub-dial provide understated depth. The Field model features green-emitting Swiss Super-LumiNova and Globolight® numerals, while the Blackbird offers blue-emitting luminescence. These unique light profiles ensure exceptional low-light visibility while giving each model a distinct identity.
In this series, Aera introduces its first manual-winding movement with the Sellita SW216-1. This Elabore-grade caliber offers 42 hours of power reserve, running at a precise 28,800 vibrations per hour. Known for reliability and ease of service, this movement aligns with Aera’s philosophy of creating long-lasting, serviceable timepieces. Each watch is water-resistant to 100 meters, making it as capable in rugged environments as it is stylish in urban settings.
The M-1 Field includes two interchangeable straps: one in black Italian calf leather with white stitching and another in tan pebble grain leather. The M1-Blackbird pairs its bold design with black leather and grey suede straps, all equipped with quick-release mechanisms for effortless customization.
Aera also commits to sustainability via its use of 100% recyclable and biodegradable packaging and digital manuals.
