Memorial Day — it is a time to celebrate our fallen heroes — those who fought for our country and died. I have lost many people in my life — parents, siblings, friends and more — and i visit the cemetery regularly with flowers to honor them. On Memorial Day weekend, though, when I go to place flags on my father’s grave (he was a Marine in World War II) and on my uncle’s grave (he was in the army during World War II), I am always struck by the beauty of the vast number of American Flags waving and standing tall — making the graves of so many brave who served in our armed forces, and died, fighting for our freedom.
