Ralph Lauren, a name synonymous with timeless elegance and sophistication, has masterfully encapsulated the spirit of equestrian heritage in its Stirrup collection. Launched in 2009, this collection has become an enduring icon in the world of watchmaking, reflecting Ralph Lauren’s profound passion for the grace and beauty of horse riding. Now, the brand unveils new versions just in time for 2024 — to celebrate the Stirrup collection’s 15th anniversary.
Two new models being released are a Stirrup Petite-Link and the Stirrup Small Timepiece. The Stirrup Petite-Link, adorned with a single row of diamonds, boasts a diminutive case measuring 23.30mm by 27mm. Designed with the female wrist in mind, its jewelry-inspired bracelet is composed of intertwining stainless steel links with alternating links set with diamonds, and it features a bezel set with diamonds. The supple chain-link bracelet, set with 84 stones (~0.72 Ct), seamlessly complements the iconic stirrup-shaped case. The white lacquered and polished dial, featuring black Roman numerals and sword-shaped hands, is protected by a beautifully curved sapphire crystal.
Ralph Lauren’s dedication to detail extends to the Stirrup Small timepiece, a 27.70mm by 29.30mm stainless steel marvel. The instantly recognizable stirrup shape, combined with meticulous craftsmanship, sets this timepiece apart. The dial, adorned with Roman numerals and minute track, is covered by a convex sapphire crystal. The case, set with 60 stones (~0.69 Ct), comes with a luxurious black calf strap featuring a small leather flap reminiscent of a rider’s saddle stirrup leather. Equestrian enthusiasts will appreciate the unique interchangeable strap, mimicking the contour of a saddle, and the stirrup-shaped buckle that complements the matching case. The array of colored straps in alligator or calf leather, from white to marine navy, allows for personalization and style versatility.
The Ralph Lauren timepieces are powered by Swiss-manufactured quartz movements in mini, petite, and small models, while medium and large models feature Swiss-manufactured mechanical self-winding movements. Each movement is a testament to excellence, hand-finished with vertical Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining, known as Perlage. In essence, the Stirrup Collection not only captures the essence of Ralph Lauren’s equestrian heritage but also embodies the brand’s dedication to creating timeless pieces. The collection ranges in price from $4,500 to $8,500 depending on the size, the number of diamonds and strap/bracelet material.
