As a part of Michele Watch’s ongoing commitment to sustainable practices and products, the brand recently launched the most “pro-planet” watch offering to date. The new Deco Sport Stainless Steel White #tide Ocean Material (R) watch and its gold-tone sibling are created using at least 50 percent recycled stainless steel for the case and buckle. Additionally, the super-cool straps are made in partnership with #tide — using ocean-found plastic that is up cycled.
The new watches, which sell for $495, are a great statement in conservation, sustainability and love of the oceans. Versions include model — my favorite– with pale sea blue mother-of-pearl dial and white dancing dolphins on it. The dolphins are jumping happily around the ocean for a lively and fun statement of ocean life on the wrist. The case is gold-tone stainless steel and the strap is white. The other version, also nice but a bit more subdued for me, boasts a white mother-of-pearl dial with a wave pattern on it. I love the grosgrain textured #tide straps that are lined with unbuckle sourced from a Leather Working Group rated tannery, but for those who want something different, the strap is interchangeable with any other 18mm Michele strap.
