On Wednesday night in New York City, Citizen Watch America opened the first-ever USA multi-brand boutique just steps from Rockefeller Center. Inside the multi-story building are Citizen and sister brands Bulova, Accutron, Alpina and Frederique Constant. To celebrate luxury Swiss watch brand Frederique Constant unveiled the new Highlife Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Manufacture in a limited edition of just 88 pieces.
The new watch is the perfect embodiment of this brand: high watchmaking, important mechanical movement with complicated features of tourbillon and perpetual calendar and incredible value-proposition pricing. In fact, the 41mm stainless steel watch with in-house-made movement and rich blue dial with aperture for viewing the tourbillon escapement retails for an amazing $28,995.
The Highlife Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Manufacture watch houses the FC-975 automatic movement with perlage and circular Cotes de Geneve decoration. The fine movement is visible via a transparent sapphire case-back inset. It showcases the hours, minutes, day, date, month, leap year and a 60-seconds tourbillon escapement that compensates for errors in timekeeping due to the effects of gravity on the watch when it is in certain positions on the wrist.
The rich blue dial boasts a matt finish and features silver-hued applied indexes and hours and markers. The watch is sold with a three-link brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet and with an additional interchangeable navy blue rubber strap. It makes it debut in New York City.
