The Epic X Chrono collection for Jacob & Co became synonymous with an active and sports-driven lifestyle after it’s initial launch at Baselworld 2017. After great success with it’s first collection, the brand has decided to launch a limited 2018 Summer Edition. Inspired by the lunar rocks and turquoise seas of Sardinia, Italy, these timepieces are as colorful as they are complex.
Founded in 1986 as a luxury jeweler, Jacob & Co first rose to acclaim in the watch world in 2006 with the introduction of the Quenttin. Since that time, the Swiss house has been known for seamlessly blending the worlds of high-end jewelry and haute horology. With the Epic X Chrono Summer Edition, the brand pushes the envelope even further with a sporty and technical display.

The Epic X Chrono sets itself apart from the bunch, as a sophisticated high-end chronograph, featuring the JCAA05 skeletonized chronograph movement equipped with a column wheel. The complexity of the open-worked movement can be seen through the blue mineral crystal and sapphire glass case back. The movement features 260 components and has a self-winding mechanism with a power reserve of 48 hours.
This skeletonized automatic chronograph sits within a 47mm case. The counters are arranged in a bi-compax format with a small seconds indicator at 9-o’clock while the elapsed minute counter sits at 3 o’clock. The Epic X Chrono was created with a rotating inner bezel, which ignites a countdown timer – controlled by pushing and turning the red crown at 10 o’clock. A conglomerate of complex functions, the Epic X Chrono displays hours, minutes, seconds, small-seconds, a chronograph, and a rotating inner bezel timer.
This version of the Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono Summer Edition features an 18K white gold and titanium case with 18k white gold bezel set with 36 baguette-cut diamonds.
Outside of it’s sophisticated functions the models are distinguished by the use of high tech materials. The Epic x Chrono Summer Edition is characterized by titanium, ceramic and natural rubber elements which lend a sporty aesthetic. A screw-down crown ensures water resistance up to 200 meters.
The Epic X Chrono Summer Edition is available in three different versions. Limited to 101 pieces, the first style features a titanium grade-5 case with a white ceramic bezel outfitted by ceramic pushers and a rubber blue crown and horns. Titanium lugs hold an open worked rubber strap with a titanium closure. Two, more exclusive editions are limited to 3 pieces each. The second edition features an 18K white gold and titanium case complemented by an 18k white gold bezel set with 36 baguette-cut diamonds. The stunning bezel is accented by white, ceramic pushers and a blue rubber crown and matching rubber horns. The 18k white gold lugs hold either an open worked rubber or alligator strap. The third limited version is also housed within an 18k white gold and titanium case. In this case, the 18k white gold bezel is set with 14 baguette cut diamonds and 22 baguette blue sapphires. The brilliant décor is completed by white ceramic pushers, blue rubber horns and a vibrant red crown. Similar to the previous edition, this timepiece is available on either an open worked rubber or alligator strap.
Just three pieces of this Jacob & Co Epic X Chrono Summer edition, with 18k white gold bezel set with 14 baguette cut diamonds and 22 baguette blue sapphires will be made.
