It is called the Running of the Roses, and the “most exciting two minutes in sports. Yesterday’s Kentucky Derby didn’t disappoint. The winner: Mage, ridden by jockey Javier Castellano. The horse and jockey made it to the finish line of the 149th Kentucky Derby in 2:01.4 seconds. The event was timed by Longines, which is the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the event.
Longines had an important presence at the entire three-day Churchill Downs events, beginning on Friday where the brand hosted the Fashion Contest by Longines and presented the winners of the most elegant attire for men and women with a Longines watch. The brand also timed the Longines Kentucky Oaks race as the Official Partner , Timekeeper and Watch for the Kentucky Oaks — where Pretty Mischievous won.

Longines awarded the owner, trainer and jockey of the winners of the Longines Kentucky Oaks and of the Kentucky Derby with watches. The watches were from its flagship line, the Longines Master Collection. Powered by self-winding movements, they offer moon phase and 24-hour indication. One version, a 34mm stainless steel piece, boasts a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond markers, while the other versions 42mm steel watch, features a patterned dial motif.
