Listening to Time with Breguet’s Musicale (VIDEO)

When touring the Breguet workshops in Switzerland recently, we got the opportunity to listen (and video record) the brand’s highly acclaimed classical “La Musicale” timepiece.

The watch plays an aria either on demand or at the desired time, like a melodic reminder. It houses a patented musical mechanism that consists of a disk carrying music box pins on 15 metal teeth of a comb. A Liquidmetal® membrane placed beneath the movement amplifies the frequencies required to sound out the song. Making the piece even more alluring, the etched and engraved dial rotates withe the musical tune.
