Watch lovers in the USA will be thrilled with the newest timepiece being released by Laurent Ferrier. We’ve written about this brand before here and we know it is a particular favorite of those who appreciate not only classic elegance, but also superlative watchmaking. Now, Laurent Ferrier unveils a new USA Special Edition Galet Traveller Enamel watch with cloisonné dial limited to 8 pieces in white gold. Designed and built in Geneva by Laurent Ferrier, the dual-time zone watch is based on the 298-part, self-winding Traveller movement, with pawl-fitted micro-rotor and a double direct-impulse escapement that is fitted directly on to the balance. The two push-buttons integrated into the left-hand side of the case serve to move the local time — shown by the central hand — either forwards or backwards. The current date automatically changes at midnight, while the aperture at 9:00 indicates the reference or home time in 24-hour mode. The alluring dial of the 41 mm watch deftly depicts the American continent in all its glory via grass green and vivid ocean blue hues hand-painted with the utmost attention to detail. The dial is surrounded by a circular satin-brushed midnight blue plate with gold indexes. The watch is finished with a full-skin square-scael hand-stitched alligator strap. The watch, slated to hit stores in November, retails for $79,000with the traditional ardillon buckle, or $82,000 for the folding buckle.
