In the realm of fame, where accolades, achievements, and legions of fans abound, what more can one desire? For New Jersey born Jon Bon Jovi, the iconic frontman of the band Bon Jovi, who has traversed the realms of rock stardom for over four decades, the answer lies in the pursuit of the extraordinary, the unique, and the deeply personal. With a career spanning 40 years and boasting over 130 million album sales worldwide, Bon Jovi has left an indelible mark on the music industry and popular culture at large. Now, to celebrate his 40 years, Jon Bon Jovi sought a timepiece that embodies his exacting spirit, disruptive nature, and unmistakable individuality. That timepiece, created jointly with Jaquet-Droz is the exclusive Tourbillon Skelet Red Gold Bon Jovi that was recently hand delivered to him in Palm Beach by Jaquet-Droz CEO Alain Delamura.
The journey towards this horological masterpiece unfolds against the backdrop of two distinct worlds – the vibrant energy of Jon Bon Jovi and his illustrious career and the horological heritage of La Chaux-de-Fonds. It is here, amidst the storied craftsmanship of Jaquet Droz, that Jon Bon Jovi’s quest for the perfect watch culminated. Together he worked with the brand’s artisans to create a watch that embodies his mottos and philosophy.
A testament, also, to Jaquet Droz’s “Philosophy of the Unique”, the new watch is emblazoned with an exclusive emblem of Bon Jovi’s unparalleled journey. In the center of the 41-mm 18-karat 5 N rose gold case with a dial-less facade that enables viewing of the complex caliber within. At 12:00, a complicated tourbillon escapement resides, seemingly floating in mid- air. A hand-crafted white gold applique, bearing the band’s iconic logo embellished with the number “40” in homage to their milestone anniversary, resides in the center of the escapement.
The focal point of the watch, though, is centered beneath the crystal and above the movement: a hand-carved insignia of unfurled wings with dagger plunged into the center. A key symbol for Jon Bon Jovi. Each component is meticulously engraved, polished, and finished by hand. The result is a symphony of satin-brushed, polished, and grained surfaces, weaving together to form a tapestry of unrivaled craftsmanship.
The watch is a unique piece with an 18-karat white gold dial and s self-winding skeletonized tourbillon movement silicon balance spring, 18-karat gold oscillating weight and eight days of power reserve.
Each element reflects the artist’s ethos of living life on one’s own terms – a sentiment encapsulated in his timeless anthem, “It’s My Life”. In the spirit of this philosophy, Jon Bon Jovi invites admirers to embrace their uniqueness, to create their own narrative, and to seek out the extraordinary in every moment.
