IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled its first Portofino Chronograph 39 with a stainless steel bracelet at Watches and Wonders Shanghai. The new model showcases a compact and versatile design with a 39mm stainless steel case, featuring a silver-plated dial and rhodium-plated hands. This timepiece continues the tradition of the Portofino collection, known for its minimalist aesthetic and timeless elegance since its inception in 1984.
This year’s Portofino Chronograph 39 (Ref. IW391503), introduces a sporty chronograph complication to the classic design, enhancing its functionality while maintaining its refined look. The watch is equipped with IWC’s in-house 69355 caliber chronograph movement, visible through a sapphire glass case back, and capable of measuring stop times up to 30 minutes with a 46-hour power reserve.
For the first time, the Portofino Chronograph 39 is paired with a five-link stainless steel bracelet, offering both durability and comfort. The bracelet’s brushed and satin-finished links contribute to the watch’s modern and sophisticated appearance. Additionally, the bracelet features an integrated quick-change system, allowing for easy swapping with other options, such as traceable Swiss calf leather, to suit various occasions.
