This summer, Oris invites you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature with the newest addition to their Divers Sixty-Five series—the captivating Divers Sixty-Five Date 40mm. This timepiece, adorned with calming forest green hues, is a tribute to the dense woodlands that cradle Oris’ historic factory in the Swiss village of Hölstein. For 120 years, this picturesque setting in the Waldenburg Valley has been the brand’s home, and now, it breathes life into a watch that marries heritage and modernity. The new Divers Sixty-Five Date 40mm unveiled today houses a special Sellita movement.
A Nod to the Past
The Divers Sixty-Five series is a contemporary revival of Oris’s first true sports watch, which debuted in 1965. The playful, joyful spirit of the original is ever-present in this modern incarnation, designed for both nostalgia and today’s demanding watch enthusiasts. The green dial and bezel echo the verdant landscapes surrounding Hölstein, making this watch not just a timepiece, but a piece of history and nature combined.
The Divers Sixty-Five Date features a robust 40mm stainless steel case and a matching three-link matte-finished bracelet, exuding both strength and elegance. The bracelet’s folding clasp ensures a secure and comfortable fit, making it perfect for both daily wear and adventurous exploits. The uni-directional rotating bezel, adorned with a minutes scale, enhances its functionality, particularly for diving enthusiasts.
A domed sapphire crystal, coated with anti-reflective material on the inside, protects the dial, ensuring clear visibility under various lighting conditions. The screw-down crown and stainless steel case back fortify the watch’s durability, while water resistance up to 10 bar (100 meters) makes it a reliable companion for underwater explorations.
At the heart of the new Divers Sixty-Five Date is the Caliber 733 with a Red Rotor Sellita-based movement. The watch is priced at $2,700 USD. The moss-colored gradient green dial’s applied indices and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova®, providing excellent legibility in low-light conditions—a crucial feature for divers. The luminous green dial, paired with the multi-piece stainless steel bracelet, and dark moss green bezel, creates a harmonious and visually appealing design.
