Yesterday, Michael Kors unveiled four new Michael Kors Access Hybrid Smart watches (including Access Gage and Access Slim Runway Hybrids) that will be available for sale during the holiday season.
Each timepiece utilizes Bluetooth technology, and offers tracking of steps, distance and calories. Access also offers a sleep-pattern tracker and an alarm function. As to notifications, the watch uses vibrations and an unusual hand-movement maneuver to let the wearer know about emails, text messages and other incoming information. Additionally, the watch syncs data wirelessly from your device to your Smartphone app, so you have the information at your fingertips on your phone if need be.
Another cool feature: thanks to the Michael Kors Access Link system, each Access watch has a control button that — much like a remote control — lets you snap a selfie, control music, track progress on a goal, and even ring your phone to find it.
Using the watch as a time-telling device is also a snap, as it not only tracks the hours and the minutes, but also automatically changes to a new time zone (and date) if the wearer travels.
The Access Slim Runway Hybrid Smartwatch is offered as a 42mm stainless steel timepiece that is either gold-plated or black plated. Each features a color-coordinated dial and three-row link bracelet. The gold version has a classic look, while the black version has a stealth appeal. These models retail for $250.
The Access Gage Hybrid Smartwatch is a larger, sportier timepiece. It measures 45mm in diameter and displays more information, including he day of the week and the alarm alert, on the watch dial. Like its sibling Slim Runway, the Gage is also offered in two styles: stainless steel case and bracelet with a bold blue dial; or a vintage-looking brown leather strap version with a black dial. The Gage retails for $295.
All of the watches in the Access collection are water resistant to 3ATM and are powered by a built-in battery that does not need to be charged. The battery has an expected lifespan of six months (depending on usage) before needing to be changed. They are all compatible with Android phones and iPhones. While the watches were unveiled today, they will not be available for sale until the late-fall/holiday season.
