It’s no secret that watch collectors are loving the bronze watches that have been emerging onto the watch scene in recent years. And the new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze beauty is no exception. There are several reasons this new diver’s watch – water resistant to 300 meters – will be hot, not the least of which is the fact that it joins the very rare ranks of being a square diver’s watch. Afterall, accomplishing water resistance in square watches is exceptionally difficult, especially when talking about a dive watch that is continually under water.
Another important reason for watch lovers to be running out to grab one of these beauties is the fact that the case is made in bronze. To complete the stunning look of the bronze case, Bell & Ross created the dial and the bezel in a warm brown hue that makes for dynamite looks.
Because bronze gets a unique patina over time, it is considered a “living” material. Depending on the environment, the metal will corrode – essentially protecting the surface from external elements. The oxidized look is different all the time, and so each of the just 999 pieces being made watch will gain its own unique look. The alloy used for this BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze watch is CuSn8 – meaning it is 92 percent copper and 8 percent tin, so it has a rosier hue.
Inside the case is the automatic BR-CAL 302 movement that offers hour, minutes seconds and date. The crown is screwed down for maximum water resistance. The crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coasting and the indices are filled with Super-LumiNova. Another factor in its favor: the price. Lastly, this watch just looks fantastic on the wrist – in or out of the water. The diving watch, that is resistant to salt water and made to comply with the international standard ISO 6425, retails for $4,700.
For those who might want to go the conventional route, Bell & Ross also unveils the BR 03-92 Diver White in steel with white dial, but all the same features. Sold with a black rubber strap it retails for $3990. Both watches are sold in the brands’ waterproof Pelican box.
