Earlier this year at the Couture Show in Las Vegas, i got a sneak look at the newest Oceanus watches that Casio America, Inc. is now releasing. In fact, there are four new Oceanus watches being unveiled — all of which boast a spiral-cut sapphire bezel that offers a real wow factor. One of the watches also represents the brand’s ongoing efforts to achieve thinness. The OCWS6000SW2A watch is a limited-production model that ow holds the title of the thinnest watch in the Casio and Oceanus collection, measuring a mere 9.2 mm in thickness. Each of the 300 pieces of this watch has been meticulously crafted by hand at Casio’s Yamagata factory in Japan, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to quality.
As to the spiral-cut sapphire crystal bezel: the undersides of the bezel are skillfully colored through vapor deposition, creating a striking blue gradient that symbolizes the dynamism of waves. The dial’s reflective attribute, also achieved through vapor deposition, cleverly conceals the solar charging panel. The use of titanium for the band, buckle, and case further enhances the timepiece’s elegance, with a titanium carbide treatment capturing the essence of the brand.
Additionally, there are three pieces going the S7000 series that share similar features, such as a smooth sapphire crystal bezel, a titanium case and bracelet, and double-sided anti-reflective sapphire glass. Each of the three models boasts a distinct personality through its dial coloration. The OCWS7000A and OCWS7000B exhibit a blue-to-black gradation IP on the dial, while the OCWS7000 showcases a solid black dial. The cases and bracelets of the series are formed from hardened titanium and treated with different color finishes including silver IP and dark gray IP. The S7000 models measure 9.5 mm in thickness.
The watches are equipped with Casio’s latest technologies, including Multi-Band 6, Tough Solar, Tough Movement, 100-meter water resistance, smart access, and Bluetooth connectivity via the CASIO Watches app, these timepieces combine both style and functionality.
The OCWS6000SW2A from the Oceanus Manta line will retail for $2,400 and will be available at select retailers. The S7000 series includes the OCWS7000-1A priced at $1,300, the OCWS7000A-2A at $1,400, and the OCWS7000B-2A at $1,550.
