We are big fans of German watchmaking, especially when it is done right. Tutima, a brand we have written about often here, is one that definitely gets it right when it comes to style, design, function and quality. With Baselworld around the corner, we want to take a closer look at one of the best watches from last year that is in stores now: the Tutima Saxon One M. The Saxon line is one we like a lot, but the most recent 40mm mid-size model — with two magnificent dial colors.– is a winner.
Representing an entry level Tutima watch, the Saxon One M is offered in stainless steel with either a rich Steel Blue or Maroon Brown colored dial. Made in Glashutte, the Tutima Saxon One M is powered by the automatic caliber Tutima 330 with rotor featuring Tutima’s seal in 18-karat gold. The watch offers day of the week, date, hour, minute and central second hand. The German-made movement is visible via a sapphire case back and the case is water resistant to 10 bar.
To ensure optimum readability, the hands and indices are coated in Super-LumiNova and offer bold contrast with the dial background. Legibility is further enhanced thanks to the slightly cambered sapphire crystal that has an antireflective treatment on both sides. The watch is equipped with either a stainless steel bracelet with alternateing polished and matte- brushed elements ($2,350), or with a leather strap ($1,950).
