Hublot Loves Summer, Or At Least The Blue Skies And Oceans

Hublot is embracing summer in a big way, with two new watches that celebrate the color blue. The Big Bang Unico Sky Blue and the Big Bang Unico Azur capture the essence of the light blue sky and the tones of the Mediterranean, respectively, offering watch enthusiasts an exquisite blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and style.

The Big Bang Unico Sky Blue pays homage to the endless possibilities and sense of freedom associated with the color blue. Measuring 42mm in diameter, this timepiece showcases Hublot’s expertise in ceramic, a material that the brand has mastered over the years. Hublot made headlines in 2019 with its patented brightly colored ceramic, and the Big Bang Unico Sky Blue utilizes this to deliver a unique aesthetic.

The shimmering sky blue ceramic case exudes a playful charm and is accompanied by a bezel in the same polished and satin-finished ceramic. The six iconic screws, characteristic of the Big Bang collection, stand out against the blue backdrop.

The dia is open-worked to reveal the354-part  column wheel chronograph movement, HUB1280 manufacture caliber. This self-winding chronograph movement ensures precise timekeeping with a remarkable 72-hour power reserve. The white luminescent hands and indices, seemingly suspended in the blue expanse, add to the watch’s brightness and timelessness.

Crafted for comfort and durability, the ceramic material is hypoallergenic, lightweight, and highly resistant to oxidation and scratches, making it an ideal companion for summer activities. The watch comes with a a white calfskin leather strap with a Velcro sports fastener, perfect for casual outings, as well as the iconic lined natural rubber version with a titanium deployant buckle, suitable for elegant evenings. Hublot Big Bang Unico Azur

In addition to the Big Bang Unico Sky Blue, Hublot has also unveiled the Big Bang Unico Azur, available in a limited quantity of fifty pieces, designed to capture  the deep shades of blue associated with the French Riviera. Set against a blue ceramic case, the watch features luminescent hands and hour-markers that intersect like the wake of a passing ship at sea, as if observed through a porthole. The white ceramic bezel further enhances the nautical aesthetic.

The 42mm case of the Big Bang Unico Azur is also crafted from high-tech, hypoallergenic ceramic, showcasing Hublot’s commitment to innovative materials. Inside, the HUB1280 Unico chronograph self-winding movement powers the timekeeping functions with precision and reliability. The watch is offered with two strap options:  natural rubber strap and a braided white fabric strap.  It retails for $25,800.
