Everyone who knows Corum knows that the brand is synonymous with the Golden Bridge … a collection it unveiled decades ago that is inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge and that features a striking vertical architecture movement developed originally by master watchmaker Vincent Calabrese. Most of the newer Golden Bridge watches features bold renditions of the famed California bridge suspension forms and are immediately identifiable from across a crowded room. This year, though, the Swiss watch brand pulled a fast one on us — and if you didn’t have your eyes opened you may have missed it. We now have skinny cables!
The newest 43mm Corum Bridge Round 43 watches will blow your mind with their incredible beauty and style. Instead of boasting bold cables, the new watches features ultra-thin cables on either side of the vertical movement that somehow underscore the fragility — as well as the strength and power — of a suspension bridge. Trust me, this new version will melt your heart — especially since there are just 188 pieces of each being produced.
The Limited Edition Corum Bridges Golden Bridge round 43mm is crafted in titanium with black DLC treatment and sapphire. The crystal and casebook are made of sapphire with an anti-reflective treatment so you don’t miss any part of the watch due to glare. The cables are microstructures rigid colored brass. They stretch from top to bottom and are finished in either in 5N rose gold or white gold hues.
Water resistant to 3ATM, the watch is powered by the CO113 manual-wind movement with 40 hours of power reserve. Once agin, the architecture of the vertical movement- skeletonized — speaks volumes about the technical prowess inherent in Corum Golden Bridge watches.
This is a must-see for anyone who loves the Corum Golden Bridges watch. I love that the brand quietly introduced these two versions — without any fanfare. A close up look is one thing – -an on-the-wrist feel is another. This watch immediately screams Golden Bridge, but with a stealth case and elegant skinny cables. It won’t be missed across a crowded room either.
Each of the two new Corum Golden Bridge 43 watches retails for $23,800. But again, fewer than 200 pieces of each are being made.
