Tutima has a rich history in the German watch making industry, manufacturing quality timepieces since 1927 in the small town of Glashutte. More than 100 years ago, watch aficionados already recognized the virtuosity of the Glashutte watchmakers. With Tutima’s Patria collection, first introduced in 2013, the great traditions of the brand’s fine watchmaking were elevated by paying homage to its past. The new Patria collection includes the brand’s famed minute repeater and a host of other top-notch pieces. Now, Tutima unveils the luxury Patria Power Reserve. This new timepiece brings an additional complication to the classic, deeply technical collection, featuring a power-reserve display at 9 o’clock.
Made entirely in-house, the hand-wound caliber 618has a unique power reserve system for indicating how much energy remains in the barrel to power the hand-wound watch. The timepiece’s power-reserve function relies on a harmonious interplay of 34 different components, each element elaborately decorated by hand. According to vintage tradition, the bearing bores for the gear train bearings are placed underneath a large base plate that spans almost the entire diameter of the movement. The surface, embellished with fine finishing and engraving, complements the area around the balance, balance cock and escapement. A planetary wheel and disc provide force for the complication, while two steel winding wheels and the ratchet are visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The finely finished skeletonized balance cock offers an unobstructed view of Tutima’s oscillating system with a Breguet curved hairspring, which completes 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour.Made in Germany.
The Patria Power Reserve is housed within a classic 43-mm rose gold case, styled similar to that of the limited minute repeater. Curved lugs and a styled crown, featuring an iridescent sun burst decoration, complement the sophisticated style. The hand-wound Caliber Tutima 618 offers a 65-hour power reserve, developed at the manufacture in Glashutte. Alongside the power reserve, the finely silver-plated dial displays hours, minutes and a small seconds with a sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Manually crafted hands made of 18-karat rose gold accentuate the watch’s sharp, elegant style. The Patria Power Reserve is completed by a brown, hand-sewn alligator leather strap with a golden tang buckle. The timepiece is water resistant to 5 atm. The watch is a stunning complement to any suit thanks to its sleek styling and elegant looks. It represents the true sophisticated beauty of the Patria collection and underscores Tutima’s watchmaking prowess. It retails for $19,900.
