Rooted in the Saxony region of Germany, A. Lange & Söhne exemplifies the nation’s watchmaking ethos: complicated mechanics presented with understated clarity. Every watch the brand produces reflects this dual pursuit of horological excellence and minimalist design—a distinctly German philosophy where purpose defines beauty. The new Odysseus in Honeygold®, unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2025, is a perfect case in point.

A. Lange & Sohne Odysseus Honey Gold
A limited edition of just 100 pieces, this new version introduces a novel material combination to the Odysseus line. The case and integrated bracelet are made from Lange’s proprietary 18-karat 750 Honeygold®—a metal known not only for its warm, honey-toned hue but also for its superior hardness compared to other gold alloys. With a case diameter of 40.5 millimeters and a thickness of 11.1 millimeters, the Odysseus maintains a balanced presence on the wrist, striking a rare harmony between robustness and refinement.
At its core lies the manufacture caliber L155.1 DATOMATIC, a self-winding movement engineered to perform reliably in a range of settings, from leisure to light sport. Visible through a sapphire-crystal caseback, the 312-part movement showcases Lange’s exacting hand-finishing: untreated German silver bridges, a hand-engraved balance bridge, blued screws, and a gold chaton held in place by screws above the escape wheel. The unidirectional central rotor, skeletonized and partially black-rhodiumed, features a centrifugal mass in solid platinum to optimize winding efficiency.

The new A. Lange & Sohne Odysseus Honey Gold watch features a new Honey Gold(TM) bracelet, as well.
Operating at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz), the movement delivers a stable power reserve of 50 hours. Regulation is achieved through a balance with recessed poising screws, which reduce air resistance while maintaining precision. A freely oscillating balance spring, manufactured in-house, works in tandem with a cam-actuated precision beat adjustment system to ensure consistent timekeeping. Notably, the oscillation system is held in place by a bridge secured at two points—a structural choice that improves shock resistance and hints at the watch’s sporty credentials, which include shock resistance and water resistance up to 12 bar (120 meters).
Aesthetically, this iteration of the Odysseus presents a cohesive, richly toned design. The brown dial complements the warm hue of the Honeygold® case and bracelet. It features a mix of textured surfaces and polished accents, including a groove-embossed chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial that enhance the sense of depth.

Just 100 pieces of the A. Lange & Sohne Odysseus Honey Gold will be made.
The iconic outsize date and day-of-week displays are executed with crisp white numerals for maximum legibility, while a red “60” at the top of the minute track adds a subtle splash of color. The hour and minute hands, along with the applied baton indices, are made from Honeygold® and treated with luminous material for visibility in low-light conditions.
A new five-row integrated bracelet, also in Honeygold®, debuts on this model. Designed for comfort and visual continuity, it features brushed surfaces and polished bevels that mirror the case design. The deployant buckle includes a discreet pusher mechanism allowing for micro-adjustments up to 7 millimeters without needing to open the clasp—an especially thoughtful detail for daily wear. As mentioned, just 100 pieces will be made. Price is on request, but we estimate it will sell for about $110,000.

The A. Lange & Sohne Odysseus Honey Gold watch is fitted with the Caliber L.155-1 Datomatic.
