Franck Muller has teamed with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Geneva to create a timepiece as exclusive as the British car brand’s bespoke automobiles. The Bespoke collection of watches is based on Franck Muller’s well-known “Crazy Hours” watches. The two companies also worked together to customize the interior of the car.
Via its Bespoke program, Rolls-Royce enables customers to personalize their own car. They can choose colors and other details including exterior and interior finishes. The Wraith Crazy Numbers watch created by Franck Muller will reflect the customized car. Additionally, in the interior of the car, there is an embroidered Crazy Numbers motif in the same Silver/Cobalto Blue hues as the dashboard accents. The car will be presented in fourth quarter of 2020, along with the Wraith Crazy Numbers watch.
The dial of the watch displays the color codes of the car dashboards and Rolls-Royce seats. The cases are offered in black or in blue, and the watch is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement that offers 42 hours of power reserve. Thanks to its patented Crazy Hours mechanism, the watch offers a new way of reading of time. The central hour hand jumps from every hour to the appropriate numeral on the dial, where all of the numbers seem randomly placed rather than ordered.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the world’s finest car manufacturer to produce this bespoke car and this exclusive watch collection. To see our exceptional know how of haute-horlogerie be interpreted into such an exclusive car has been a fascinating experience,“ says Nicholas Rudaz, Director of Franck Muller Watchland.
“Distinction, leadership and genuine expression is at the heart of the BespokeProgramme. The car is regarded as a key element of one’s taste and personal style, so it’s only natural it’s bespoke,” says Matt Danton, Bespoke Designer of Rolls-Royce.
