This weekend is one filled with great watch-related events to experience.
We could have posted the top 7 things to do this weekend – but two of our musts are – well — today: Halloweeen and the Grand Prix. So, instead we have a host of events happening in New York, Chicago, California and more for time-savvy readers to indulge in.
1) Saturday at 10 am- at Times Square TAG Heuer is hosting a very special event that underscores it’s “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” campaign. It’s latest brand ambassadors Michelle DeLucca and Justin Michalski will be on hand as the brand unveils its new billboard with them.
2) Sunday- TAG Heuer is the Official Timekeeper and Timepiece for the New York Marathon. If you are not running it, you can certainly cheer on those who are. TAG Heuer’s DeLucca will be running and Michalski runs with Team for Kids (adult runners raising funds for NYRR’s Youth and Community Services programs.
3) This weekend – starting today and going into tomorrow— the Breeders’ Cup World Championships take place in Santa Anita, California. Longines is the Official Partner, Timekeeper and Watch of this much-loved event. If you are lucky enough to be there in person, you may be able to participate in the Longines Prize of Elegance, awarded to the most elegant man and woman at the Breeders’ Cup. None other than the Mentalist’s Simon Baker, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, will be on hand for the awards. (You can read more about Longines and horse racing here.)
4) DST: For those living in the USA: before you go to bed on Saturday night — unless you stay up until 2 am on Sunday morning — turn your clocks back. This weekend marks the end of Daylight Saving Time. The clocks fall back by one hour giving you an extra hour of sleep. Too bad for you about not getting that extra hour of sleep if you live in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and much of Arizona — all of which don’t participate in DST.
5) On Sunday, the world famous high-wire walker Nik Wallenda takes on Chicago. Indeed at approximately 6 pm, the JeanRichard brand ambassador challenges the Windy City, as he attempts a daring two-hour tightrope walk across the Chicago River and between skyscrapers. He will walk – climbing a 15-degree incline – from one of the Marina Towers across the river to the Leo Burnett building. Despite the fact that a watch could throw off his weight, he will be wearing a JeanRichard timepiece. We will bring you a complete story about Nik on Monday, so stay tuned. Meanwhile enjoy a timely weekend.
