Yesterday we brought you a quick look at five watches we liked from the late October 2023 WatchTime New York show. Here we take a look at a few more top watches.
Bovet Recital 27
The most recent masterpiece from the House of Bovet 1822, is the Recital 27 with beautiful pale blue guilloche dials that shimmer inside the titanium case. The watch, powered by an in-house movement with seven days of power reserve, offers local time and two secondary time zones with 24 cities disk. The 46.5mm titanium watch boasts three-dimensional precision hemispherical moon that lights up in the dark thanks to a luminous display. The moon phase is accurate for 122 years. The exhibition case back of the sloped writing-desk case allows for viewing of the finely finished 512-part caliber.
Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Blue Sapphire
The newest L.U.C Full Strike Sapphire watch from Chopard is created in a limited edition of just five pieces. The minute repeater boasts sapphire gongs, and the entire case, crown and dial are sapphire. The 42.5mm watch is transparent and is powered by the 533-part L.U.C 08.01-L movement – visible from all sides. The caliber is a certified chronometer and bears the Poincon de Geneve quality hallmark. The strikework pusher is integrated into the crown. Additionally, the watch boasts multiple patents, including: a patented monobloc sapphire crystal and gongs, a patented clutch-lever device to block the strikework to avoid losing power during retrieval of the timing information and a patented dedicated ratchet-driving mechanism to avoid any pauses during the chiming sequence.
Oris X Bracenet
While we love the Oris x Kermit watch, which was proudly on display at the Oris booth, the new Oris X Bracenet affiliation is also strong. The special-edition Aquis Date diver’s watch features a great green dial with almost kaleidoscope effect that is made of recycled “ghost” and fishing nets. It is created by using small blue, green and white offcuts of the material and melting them together into a thin sheet that is then cut to size and planed down in thinness to result in a useable dial. No two dials are the same. The watch is offered in stainless steel in a 43.5mm version and a 36.5 mm version – both fitted with automatic mechanical movements wit rotating bezel. Water resistant to 300 meters, the watch’s numerals and hands glow blue in the dark.
Bremont SuperMarine GMT
The model S302 SuperMarine GMT watch comes with a two-color aluminum bezel with 24 hour indication and day/night tracking for the second time zone. The watch offers improved legibility thanks to new numerals and key markings in bright orange. The 40mm stainless steel watch boasts a Trip-Tick® case, domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, screw-in crown and Super-LumiNova applied dials and hands. The watch is a certified chronometer and is water resistant to 300 meters.
Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer
The recently released Senator Chronometer from this top German brand boast mechanical precision with a silver and dark blue dial inspired by the ocean waves. The 42 mm white gold case is polished by hand and satin brushed. Along with the central hour and minute hands, a small second appears lightly recessed at :00 on the dial, while the brand’s signature Panorama Date resides at 3:00. The manual winding Caliber 58-08 boasts an Incabloc shock resistance and an Anachron spiral.
