Earlier this year, just after BaselWorld, we brought you news of the new Hautlence Destination watch. That watch was in its infancy then, but is now finished, in production and making its way to the market. The daring new design from this innovative brand is, as everything is from Hautlence, superbly crafted and technologically advanced.
The Hautlence Destination was designed to bring the collection to a more affordable entry price than the average $60,000 where it was.
The new dual time zone watch with day/night indicator uses a Soprod movement (9351/A10-2) to achieve an approachable price point for connoisseurs of $21,400 for the titanium Destination 02. The black Destination 03 retails for $23,500 and the Destination 01- crafted in a steel case with black DLC and 18-karat 5N rose gold, sells for $32,100.
The new watch is part of the brand’s Signature commercial collection, and takes its inspiration from the architectural DNA of its bigger, bolder Atelier-made siblings, but does so in a cosmopolitan interpretation.
The Soprod movement is a self-winding caliber that offers hours and minutes, 12-hour dragging dual time-zone display and a 24-hour day/night indicator. The interplay of discs and time indications reinforces the brand’s spirit. Every movement is finely finished and the watch features a sapphire intermediate dial with several elements, on which Arabic numerals appear to be floating. The case back features a small opening to view the oscillating weight, and is engraved with the name Destination on it and the time zones of 12 main cities. Destination is issued in a numbered, non-limited series.
