Insiders in the watch world know the name Davide Cerrato. A veteran product designer with extensive experience in marketing, branding and more, Cerrato has held mega posts at companies like Montblanc and Tudor. Now, he becomes CEO of England’s largest manufacturer of watches, Bremont. Cerrato also holds a spot as a member of the board.
This news is big for Bremont, which recently received a massive $59 million investment by Bill Ackman and Hellcat LP. Now, by putting Cerrato at the helm as CEO, Bremont can execute ideas and plans for growth. Additionally, Cerrato will oversee supply-chain management, production and transparency. He will work directly with co-founders of the brand, Giles and Nick English.
Cerrato was instrumental in the relaunch of Tudor and its Black Bay watch 11 years ago. In fact, he is generally regarded as the design brainchild of the relaunch of that watch, which is now one of Tudor’s most important pillars. Following his years at Tudor, Cerrato went on become the Managing Director of Montblanc’s watch division, where he focused his attentions on creating the 1858 Geosphere watch. Most recently, he was CEO of and creative director of HYT.
Cerrato remarks: “I am incredibly excited to be joining Bremont. I have long admired what Nick and Giles have managed to achieve in a relatively short space of time. The brand has been on an amazing journey and I’m looking forward to working with the entire team to take it to the next level,” said Cerrato.
