Meet the new Corum Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph with design updates.
For the past nearly 60 years, Corum has been synonymous with the seas thanks to its Admirals Cup watches — a pillar of the brand since its unveiling back in 1960. The early watches, and its subsequent renditions, were renowned for the nautical pennants on the dial that acted as the markers. In the past decade or so, the brand has also ventured into new dial motifs — offering the same classical look in case and 12-sided bezel. Now, Corum unveils what it is dubbing its “Urban Warrior” the new Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph.
The Corum Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph is offered in titanium, blackened titanium and 18-karat rose gold.
Sporty yet somehow edgy, the 45mm cwatch is crafted in Grade 5 titanium, making it ultra light weight and durable. It is also offered in 18-karat 5 N rose gold for those who prefer the noble metals. Paired with a black vulcanized rubber strap, the watch is powered by an automatic chronograph movement (CO132) with seconds hand and date function in addition to chronograph counters and hours/minutes. The self-winding movement that beats at 4 Hertz and boasts 42 hours of power reserve.

While the first Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Chronograph was released six years ago in 2013, the new piece has been updated with a host of features. Among them: the Corum key brand logo nicely placed at 12:00 on the dial, and anew patterned Grenadier Fendu motif on the dial. In fact, the motif has been developed in the brand’s LaChaux de Fonds workshops and is unique.
Additionally, the case shape has been refined and features a more angular dodecagonal bezel for a more sophisticated appeal. In typical Corum style, the brand features two titanium inserts between the bezel and case so that future renditions can play with a variety of colors. The powerful timepiece is offered in two versions: a Panda and a reverse panda. On the black version with white sundials, the sundials are framed with white- or rose-gold rings. The black dial version is also offered with a black PVD titanium case and bezel. In addition to the strap, the watch can be bought with either a titanium or gold bracelet.

Missing the nautical pennants? Take a closer look. On the black dial version, the pennants quietly reside in muted hues on an outer flange. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the watch, and a crystal casebook allows for viewing of the movement. Naturally, being a nautical watch, it is water resistant to 100 meters. In titanium, it retails for $9,900. In gold it retails for $18,000.
