Snow setting is a process wherein a variety of diamond sizes are seemingly randomly set into the metal so that they emulate snow falling. All of the metal is obstructed from view in this complex diamond setting process. While most baguette-cut settings and even brilliant-cut settings are consistent from “hole” to “hole” — wherein the diamond is placed, in snow setting each and every setting — complete with claws — is carved individually to fit the different stone sizes — demonstrating the gemsetter’s experience and innovation.
