Limited to just 25 pieces due to the precious platinum case and bracelet, this exquisite watch is a celebration of understated luxury. Today, we take a closer look at this stunning $91,400 watch.

While the name of the dial, Stone Blue, may lead one to believe it is a gemstone dial, it is actually a magnificently crafted and finished elegant blue hue — what the brand calls Stone Blue.  A defining feature of this limited edition, the sandblasted texture of the dial lends a velvety, matte appearance that plays beautifully with light.

Parmigiani Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Platinum Stone Blue: Minimalism to the Max

The dial is adorned with hand-applied 18-karat gold rhodium-plated indices and skeletonized delta-shaped hands that maintain the watch’s refined minimalism – a signature of Parmigiani Fleurier timepieces.  In fact, the  Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Platinum in Stone Blue embodies the brand’s values to perfection.

The 40mm case, crafted from 950 platinum, is both polished and satin-finished, offering a subtle contrast that enhances its overall aesthetic. The knurled bezel, a signature of the Tonda PF collection, adds a discreet touch of texture, while the sapphire crystal case back reveals the beautifully finished automatic movement within.

That movement:  the ultra-thin PF703 caliber measuring just 3.07mm in thickness. The highlight of this 166-part caliber is its platinum micro-rotor, designed to ensure efficient winding while maintaining the overall slim profile of the watch. Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and offering 48 hours of power reserve, the movement is adorned with Côtes de Genève, perlage, and beveled bridges indicative of the craftsmanship and artisanry of the brand. With such a thin movement, the watch – when cased – comes in at 7.8mm in thickness for elegant and sophisticated appeal.

The platinum bracelet, with its mix of polished and satin finishes, integrates seamlessly into the case, secured by an 18-karat white gold folding clasp. Water-resistant up to 100 meters, the watch balances its delicate appearance with practical durability. Each of the 25 pieces is numbered.

The watch is at once sophisticated and understated. The fact that it is crafted in platinum with a platinum bracelet, and numbered, underscores the brand’s commitment to quiet elegance. Personally, I would not have called the dial Stone Blue even though it has a grainy, stone-like finish, as it is a bit misleading with a first glance at the name. However, that is a minor distinction. Today, very few watch brands are creating platinum timepieces and Parmigiani stands tall with this watch.
