At this year’s Geneva Watch Days, the independent luxury watchmaker H. Moser & Cie has announced an exciting partnership with the British microbrand Studio Underd0g. This unlikely pairing celebrates the playful side of high-end horology, unveiling a striking set of two limited-edition watches. With only 100 sets available, the collaboration has captivated collectors and stirred debates among watch enthusiasts.
The set includes the 42mm stainless steel Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Passion Fruit by H. Moser & Cie and the 03SERIES Passi0n Fruit by Studio Underd0g. What truly stands out, however, is the bold color palette of yellow and purple inspired by passion fruit, a fresh and whimsical design direction. Both watches omit the branding on their dials—a hallmark of H. Moser & Cie’s minimalist approach.
In keeping with H. Moser & Cie’s tradition of mechanical excellence, the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Passion Fruit is powered by the HMC 800 manufacture caliber, offering a seven-day power reserve. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship. Its dial, made from Grand Feu enamel on 18-karat gold, sports an eye-catching acid-yellow hue with a hammered texture. The contrasting purple details, such as the sunburst subsidiary dial at 3 o’clock and the outer chapter ring, complete the daring look. Typically, H. Moser & Cie’s Endeavour Perpetual Calendar models retail for around $55,000, though prices can vary slightly.
Studio Underd0g’s contribution, the smaller 38.5mm stainless steel 03SERIES Passi0n Fruit, echoes the same color scheme. Its “Coarse Degrade” amber dial, complemented by a purple subsidiary dial and outer track, creates a cohesive yet distinct aesthetic. This timepiece is powered by a Sellita movement, featuring a monopusher chronograph. Known for its accessible pricing, Studio Underd0g’s other models, such as the 01Series, typically sell for under $1,000.
“Our collaboration is driven by a shared passion — the desire to craft timepieces that are not only functional but also works of art,” said Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie. “Together with Studio Underd0g, we’ve created a collection that brings joy and creativity to watchmaking, offering something truly unique for collectors.”
Both watches also feature a subtle touch of green, symbolizing the passion fruit seed and serving as a nod to the collaborative nature of this project. While this marks the first collaboration for Studio Underd0g, the synergy between the two brands feels natural. Both are known for defying conventions, though they operate at vastly different price points.
The H. Moser & Cie model highlights its finely finished movement with a transparent case back. The hand-wound mechanical movement offers a big date display, a double barrel for a seven-day power reserve, and perpetual calendar functions, including a month indicator and leap year cycle. Meanwhile, the Studio Underd0g watch, equipped with a hand-wound Sellita SW510M movement, boasts a 63-hour power reserve and monopusher chronograph.
With a set price of $64,900 for both watches, this collaboration has sparked diverse reactions. Some collectors are charmed by the vibrant colors and appreciate the balance of a daily-wear piece alongside a haute horology option. Others find the pairing of a $55,000 watch with a $3,000 microbrand model somewhat puzzling. Regardless, the collection’s playful spirit is unmistakable.
