Citizen Unveils New Size, Colors In Tsuyosa Series

Yes, for some of us the name of the Citizen Tsuyosa collection is difficult to pronounce. But, taking its name from the Japanese word for “strength,” the Tsuyosa embodies durability, functionality and great aesthetics. That is particularly true of the three new versions just introduced by the brand in a 37mm case.

Expanding the popular Tsuyosa collection, three new models mark a significant evolution for the line. For the first time, the collection welcomes a very wearable 37mm case size, offering a more compact and versatile option for watch enthusiasts.

Even better: the new lineup introduces a striking palette of dial colors that include Ice Blue, Pastel Pink  and Dark Green—each designed to complement a variety of styles and moods. The Ice Blue dial mirrors the shade found in the larger 40mm NJ015 series, providing a crisp and refreshing appearance. The Pastel Pink edition brings a soft, warm hue to the collection, evoking a sense of calm and sophistication. The Dark Green variant, distinct from the green of the 40mm model, offers a rich and refined option for those who appreciate understated elegance.

The stainless steel watches maintain the robust and high-quality construction, with steel case and bracelet, ensuring durability and comfort. The case is expertly finished with a combination of chamfering, fine brushing, and polished surfaces, creating a sleek and modern aesthetic.

A key design element on the dial is the magnified date window at 3:00, enhancing legibility while preserving the watch’s clean look. Additionally, the hands and marker indies are coated with luminescence for easy night time readability. The  crown is positioned at 4:00 in an effort to offer a streamlined silhouette and enhanced comfort on the wrist.

The new Tsuyosa  watches are powered by the automatic Caliber 8210 movement. This reliable movement offers automatic and manual winding capabilities, a 42-hour power reserve, and an accuracy rating of -20 to +40 seconds per day. The frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour ensures smooth operation, while the 21-jewel construction enhances longevity and performance. The transparent case back provides a glimpse into the movement, appealing to watch aficionados who appreciate mechanical craftsmanship.

Practical features such as sapphire crystal, luminescent hands and indices, and a 5 BAR water resistance rating make these timepieces ideal for daily wear.  Set to launch in Spring 2025, the new Citizen Tsuyosa 37mm models retail for $450.
