Denim… .It screams relaxed. So it’s really cool to see a brand like Omega indulging in denim with a vintage-inspired watch that you just won’t want to pass up. Inspired by the original 1957 Railmaster watch that was known for its anti-magnetic properties, Omega releases a new timepiece inspired by the past: The new denim-inspired Seamaster Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer 40mm Railmaster is crafted in stainless steel and features a blue jeans-like dial with indexes and hands in light gray Super-LumiNova. Accenting the dial is a beige seconds hand and the Railmaster indiction — colored in the orange/beige reminiscent jeans stitching. Naturally, the strap version is offered with a blue denim NATO strap with brown leather keepers. There is also a stainless steel bracelet model, but — really — you have to go for the denim strap version. The difference in price: $4,900 for denim; $5,000 for steel bracelet.
The steel watch measures 40mm in diameter and the case has a brushed finish and conical crown. The watch is powered by the Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, which is 15 times more resistant than the original Railmaster models. With a screw-in crown, the Swiss-made watch is water resistant to 150 meters. It is certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), and can withstand magnetism of 15,000 gauss. The self-winding co-axial escapement has a free-sprung balance and silicon balance spring. It offers automatic winding in both directions. The watch features a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides.
