At Geneva Watch Days, Breitling releases its sporty, highly functional Endurance Pro watch collection. This new line is offered at a great price/value proposition and is extremely high-tech and geared-for-performance in the everyday world that many of today’s active sports enthusiasts pursue.
Inspiration Behind the Breitling Endurance Pro Watch
In fact, the watch was developed by Breitling after discussions with German triathlete Jan Frodeno, who is a gold medal Olympic winner, and a multiple-time winner of the Ironman World Championships. He recently came on board with Breitling’s Triathlon Squad.
The Endurance Pro line is also inspired by the Breitling Sprint watch from the 1970’s that included a pulsometer. During sports, it is great for the athlete to be able to measure heartbeat. As such, the new watches offer this function via an inner pulsometer scale bezel. They also feature bi-directional rotating bezels with the cardinal compass points engraved on them, great for outdoor use. Additionally, the Endurance Pro watches are fitted with Diver Pro rubber straps in the same color as the inner bezel ring that is the pulsometer scale. Breitling is also offering Outerknown Econyl® yarn NATO straps for sale separately.
Key Features of the Breitling Endurance Pro Watches
Each of the 44mm Endurance Pro chronograph watches is fitted with a thermo-compensated SuperQuartz™ movement that is 10 times more accurate than traditional quartz movements. The Breitling Caliber 82 is a COSC-certified chronometer, attesting to its precision.
The watches are also made of the brand’s proprietary Breitlight® case – ensuring light weight yet rugged durability. It is 3.3 times lighter than titanium. Its properties include anti-magnetism, hypoallergenic, corrosion resistant, scratch resistant and thermally stable. Exclusive to Breitling, the material is 100 percent made in Switzerland. Each of the multiple versions of the Endurance Pro retails for $3,000.
The colorful timepieces are offered in a range of hues from orange, to red, caution yellow, white and blue. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova and the chronograph times to 1/10th of a second and 30 minutes. The watches are water resistant to 100 meters and are sold with a two-year warranty.
The Breitling Strava Challenge
The new Breitling Endurance Pro watches kick off the Breitling Endurance Pro Strava Challenge wherein competitors vie for prizes. Strava is a leading app for runners and cyclists because it allows them to analyze their activities. Via the Strava Challenge, which goes live today, participants will compete for prizes such as a Breitling Endurance Pro watch, a Breitling Colnago C64 bicycle, and other items. To be eligible for the prizes, competitors have to complete 500 minutes in the activity of choice in a two-week time period. The winners are selected totally at random.
