Despite the fact that the James Bond No Time to Diemovie has been postponed yet again, Swatch has not stalled the unveiling of its new 2Q watch. Following the international success of the Swatch X 007 collaboration, the Swiss watch brand unveils the new 2Q watch. Created in honor of the Bond character, the maker of all things gadgets and gizmos, Q, who tinkers away in his laboratory putting a few additions into his favorite watch.
The new 2Q has some bold pops of red on it and is finished with a red inner side on the strap. The 2Q is being made in a limited edition and is the result of a collaboration with the movie’s costume designer, Suttirat Anne Larlarb. The bold side of Larlarb’s design comes through in the form of a tartan plaid brown leather strap with sharp red edges and a red liner. This stainless steel watch features a sun-brushed dial ring that enables viewing of the open-worked movement. A bold red rim brings a dash of danger to the design. The Swatch 2Q watch retails for $220, making it the perfect last-minute gift for the Bond lover in your life.
And speaking of Bond, the secret agent will be wearing an Omega watch in the new movie. Omega, big brother to Swatch, has been a partner of the Bond movies for years. In the new movie, actor Daniel Craig as Bond (supposedly his fifth and final time acting as the spy) wears the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 edition. Crafted in titanium, that watch is water resistant to 300 meters because it is a known fact that Bond goes to all depths to save the world.
Let’s hope that come April 2021, theaters will be opened around the world and Bond lovers will be able to witness the movie on the big screens.
